Equity & Inclusion Task Force

Building Equity in Our Business Communities.

The creation of the Equity Task Force, is the result of discussions among chamber members about racial inequity, in the wake of the Black Lives Matter movement in 2020.

We recognize that we, as business leaders in our communities, must be a part of working towards an anti-racist society, that dismantles systematic racism, so that our mission, as the Amherst Area Chamber of Commerce, can truly support and welcome all members of our communities, no matter one’s identity.

Diversity, equity and inclusion is good for business, and it is our goal to work towards a more diverse, vibrant, and inclusive community, which celebrates diversity.

#HateHasNoBizHere Poster Campaign

Diversity, equity and inclusion is good for all, and it is our goal to work towards a more diverse, vibrant, and inclusive community, which celebrates diversity.
We are launching a poster for our Chamber members and area businesses to post and reinforce this thinking. #hatehasnobizhere.
One free poster per business will be available at the Visitor Information Center on weekdays, during the hours of 10AM-2PM. Let's send a message, loud and clear, that #hatehasnobizhere.

Support Diverse Local Businesses

The Chamber prides itself on celebrating diversity and fostering a culture of equity and inclusion in our workplaces. This listing of area businesses self-identified as woman, LGBTQ+, or minority-owned empowers consumers to support these local businesses.
