Nothing’s Perfect: A Traveling Zine and Photography Exhibition
February 2, 2010 - February 12, 2010 - 5:30 PM

Youth Action Coalition and GirlsEyeView (GEV) invite the community to attend a traveling exhibition of original photography, writing and collage by the GirlsEyeView participants. Called “Nothing’s Perfect”, the project is a homemade zine exploring issues such as feminine beauty in the media, suicide, the environment, and love and relationships. There will be a reception in Amherst from 5:30-7pm on Tuesday, February 2. The exhibition will move to Ware in March, with a reception on Monday, March 1 from 4-6pm. Light snacks will be provided at both events. Copies of the completed zine will be available for the public.

GirlsEyeView is a program of Youth Action Coalition (YAC), a non-profit community organization based in Amherst. YAC’s goal is to facilitate youth empowerment through a variety of programs and activities which promote self-esteem, creative expression, leadership development and youth activism. By encouraging these skills, YAC hopes to connect youth with their peers and adults and to create a dialogue which will address issues of concern to them. More Info
