America's Holiday is the opportunity to mark our long association with Amherst as we note Amherst town's 250th anniversary in featuring a premiere by distinguished amherst composer robert stern entitled music for a midsummer evening written for Laura Klock, horn, Lynn Klock saxophone, and Estela Olevsky, piano, all Amherst residents. The program includes the Scaramouche Suite by Milhaud and On a Snowy Evening, by Catherine McMichael played by Lynn Klock and Nadine Shank piano, and from Jazz Duo, Jerry Noble piano and Bob Sparkman clarinet a selection of American delights.July 4 is offered as MTC's free family concert without intermission and starting earlier so that the audience can follow with further Holiday Night celebration.
