You’ve never really tried asparagus until you’ve attended the WGBY Chef’s Spearit Lunch. At this special WGBY Asparagus Festival event on Saturday, June 3, local Pioneer Valley chefs will put up dishes showcasing asparagus in unique and delicious ways. In a private tent adjacent to the popular WGBY Asparagus Festival outside on the Hadley Town Common, you could sit down and dine on a menu “spearheaded” by the culinary talents of Osteria Vespa, sevenstrong, The Eastside Grille, and other regional restaurants. Each course will feature paired wines from State Street Wines and Spirits. Lunch begins service at 1 p.m., preceded by a 12:30 p.m. reception. The reception will feature hand-crafted beer from Valley Malt and appetizers from University Club and Restaurant. UMass Dining will provide dessert. The lunch is sponsored by Whole Foods Market. Service is coordinated by Betse Curtis. Proceeds benefit WGBY and public television in western New England. Tickets available for $50 each at wgby.org/lunch.
