The Friends of the Jones Libraries will hold a Literary Feast at Osteria Vespa in Amherst on Thursday evening, July 27, celebrating the Guido Brunetti mysteries by Donna Leon. A portion of the night’s sales will go to benefit the summer reading clubs at all three libraries and other programs that are funded by the Friends. Donna Leon wrote her first mystery Death at La Fenice at age 50, and she still considers it one of her best. In all 25 mysteries, fans enjoy the beauty of Venice while Commissario Brunetti digs into the world of crime and corruption to expose the murderer. The next Literary Feast will be hosted by Judie’s Restaurant on Wednesday, August 9. Great reading and great food make great libraries!
