Amherst Irish Association presents the Second Event in our 2017/2018 Series. INAUGURAL MARGARET MAHER ANNUAL AWARD, 2017: "Considering Ireland - What Interests Me and Why." We are delighted to announce the inaugural Margaret Maher Annual Award named after the Irish immigrant from County Tipperary who served the Dickinson family in Amherst, Massachusetts for thirty years. This is a short essay competition open to registered undergraduates students from any of the Pioneer Valley colleges. Prize for the winner is a round-trip flight to Ireland available during Spring Break 2018. ORAL PRESENTATION: Top three essay writer finalists in our essay competition will present their ideas at our Amherst Irish Association event on October 22, 2017, where Ireland's Consul General of Boston, Finnoula Quinlan will select the winner and present the Margaret Maher Award.
